It seems that I have had a little trouble losing the baby weight...
and that really shouldn't be...because my, "baby" turned 5 years old today.
*blink* *blink* Where did the time go?
It seems like only yesterday I looked like this...
(Good. Heavens. Talk about, "great with child". )and it seems like only yesterday my sweet baby Brian looked like this...
So, tiny...well, with a birth weight of 10 pounds 3 ounces, I guess, "tiny" was relative with my Brian.Oh, Brian...
It seems like only yesterday Adam was so eager to hold you...
and, it seems like only yesterday that I used to bundle you up to take Evan out to meet the bus. Everyone on the bus stop used to laugh at how only your little face was visible...
and, it seems like only yesterday that Evan used to carry you everywhere you demanded.
It seems like only yesterday you were the most fearsome pirate ever to sail the 7 seas. The boys kept trying to get you to say, "Arrrrrrrghhh!"
I loved how your diaper-pinned on parrot, was totally sideways by the end of the ward, "Trunk or Treat" party. You sort of had the opposite of a, "5 o'clock shadow", as your facial hair was almost completely rubbed off by the end of the evening. You were still a fearsome pirate, though my little, "Dread Pirate Brian."
It seems like only yesterday that Daddy was Santa at the ward Christmas party. I don't think you caught on but, when Daddy entered the room and bellowed, "Ho! Ho! Ho!" Adam, (only 4 at the time) looked as though he might cry and asked me in a very concerned tone with his little mouth gaping open, "Daddy is Santa Claus?"....jpg)
So, Daddy and I asked ourselves what would be the perfect gift for a 5 year old Batman obsessed boy?
Enter, "The Batman Bed"...
We bought you a bed and Daddy and brothers painted it black. I drew the, "Bat Signal" on some painter's tape and Daddy cut it out and spray painted around it in yellow. We put new Batman sheets on and...
Your reaction was PRICELESS!
You said with glee, "A Batman Bed!! It even has the, Bat Single!" (meaning, "signal")

Happy Birthday, Brian! We L♥ve y♥u!

Oh, what a great gift for him. He looks so happy.
And I agree - Great with Child! My goodness. I was so happy the second time around because I finally "looked" pregnant but no where near you.
He is such a gorgeous boy with those big brown eyes! What a cool gift! I may have to steal your fabulous idea!
I'm still luggin' around more baby fat than baby - since E still weighs less than 20 lbs, and I have at least 50 to lose. Not really fair for giving the gift of life, is it?
That's a great post! And that bed looks amazing! Your kids are so cute.
Happy Birthday Brian! That bed rocks!! That is so fun! What a lucky boy to have a family that is so thoughtful and that love you so much!
Your Mom is the greatest! ;)
Fab gift! Batman is the coolest superhero ever.... no spider bites or abilities to fly... no batman uses his head! I am sure your Brian will do the same!
Okay, that picture of Brian's face in the stroller is the cutest ever! What a great present. Very well done.
And boy, when you do pregnant, you really do pregnant!
Happy, happy birthday, Brian dear.
HELLO PREGNANT! How did you manage to look so chipper? I had a 10 pounder too, I haven't lost his extra weight either, then I added two more babies. Dang kids!
What a cool bed! And a perfect gift for Batman himself. Very clever. Happy Birthday!
What an awesome present! I'm sure he loves to go to bed at night now! :0)
You are such fun parents. My kid would die for anything in his room that was that cool. Poor him. They do have one thing in common - they were both HUGE babies. ☺
1. You actually look very cute pregnant.
2. LOVE the Batman bed. We have a Batman-obsessed boy over here too. Should we get them together?
3. Brian totally has your gorgeous coloring. So CUTE!
4. You look great! Whether you are 20 lbs heavier or 20 lbs lighter, you are a wonderful person and a FABulous mom.
Lauren, you're so crafty! I love the bed. Will you make one for my son? And a Hannah Montana one for my daughter? And something to hang up above my baby's crib? :)
And YAY! I'm in the "10 pound club", too! Man, was I ever glad that baby was a cesarean...
What a sweet post. Happy Birthday! I think you were a cute pregnant lady!
Cute tribute, my dear. The accompanying pictures were fantastic.
I can relate to the baby weight. I gained 60 pounds with both of mine. I was shocked they weighed less than 10 lbs when they were born. :-)
I love your prego picture! So cute!
The bed rocks...
TEN POUND BABY! Are you kidding me!!!!!! No wonder you've had a hard losing the baby weight! I could see how it takes awhile to feel up to exercising...like ever again!
What a cutie patootie! Happy Birthday to your little boy. Oh, and if you figure our a cure for baby weight send it this way. :)
Great with Child NOTHIN-- I think you look amazing! You have great hair. You have that "glow".
My baby is almost one, and I am not handling it well... I want her to STAY.
JUST STAY.
Jaxon wants a Spiderman bed. He has a cool one his dad made him out of baseball bats, but he just doesn't appreciate it! *sniff*
Wow, cool bed, what a good looking little guy.
Um. yeah.
You really were GREAT with child. A 10 pounder...really?
I. can. not. imagine.
Great gift.
Very cute kid.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY BRIAN!!!
Moms like you make moms like me look like doo-doo! I really love Scarlett O'Hara, what can you come up with for me?
I'm still packing around my identical twin with me also. I wish she would just let go.
Ohh, you make me want a little boy pirate Batman guy.
What a great mom you are getting him the Batman bed! Happy birthday Brian!
Cute post, Lauren! Love the title!
He is just the cutest kid ever. And you well if I could be half as good of a mom that you are I would jump for joy everyday.
That really is a great looking bed. What a nice thought to create that together.
Happy Birthday to Brian
I can't believe he's 5! It doesn't feel like it's been that long since we were in Blacksburg, but I guess it has! Where has the time gone?!
Braden is looking over my shoulder at these pictures, and he just asked me if he could take his bed apart and have daddy help him build a batman bed out of the wood of his bed. Definitely a cool gift, it'll be the envy of every boy his age!
By the way, is it even possible to lose the baby weight?! As for me, I've decided it's a lost cause. :)
You are the cutest pregnant lady and yes, you were great with child- a 10 lb baby?! Wow! He looks so cute in his batman bed and as a pirate. They grow up too fast!
I can not believe is he is 5 Everyone is growing up so fast. B.Wadsworth is getting seal in the morning. Miss you all
A ten pound baby? That, my dear, should be license enough to never have to drop another pound. Just the fact that your BODY had that in there and you survived entitles you to as much chocolate as you want.
I love all the pictures! Thanks for sharing them with us! You look great pregnant...and Brian has always been just so handsome. And I love the bed! You all are awesome. =)
Lauren, you are so popular!! I can't believe the number of comments your blog gets! I can't belive Brian is 5!! I always appreciate your comments and love reading your blog! GReat Bed!
I'm still trying to loose the weight after my 3rd one as well! Blech! He is a cutie!!! GO BATMAN!
You are the happiest, prettiest pregnant lady ever!
And that bed....amazing!!!!

Cute bed, cute boy, cute preggo, BIG baby!
happy birthday to your baby! you have the cutest boys! i would be lying if i said i wasn't a little envious of your boys! as you know we haven't been blessed with one of those, YET (we can always hope, right?)!
yikes! ten pounds! you are one super woman!! our last was a mere 6 lbs. 9 oz. it was heaven!!
I just have to say that I love your comments you leave on my blog, but also the comments you leave on other's blogs. You are the nicest, bestest blogging friend! It was fun to "comment battle" on Celia's blog with you! It made me laugh! Your comebacks were so much better than mine! Anyway, I really hope to meet you in person one day! ;)
How awesome! What a lucky little boy to have a family that will spend that much time on a gift they know he will love!
My baby is 8 and I am STILL trying to get rid of that last 20 pounds. argh!
Happy Birthday cute boy! I think you still look fabulous! I hate that my baby is five too.
The Batman bed is great! As crafty as you are, you could probably design a lampshade that would light the bat signal on the wall at night!
Excessive exclamations?
Also, I have the same Tigger and Pooh fabric on a blanket for Nate. Great minds . . .
You guys are beautiful. I love looking at your photos and how you and the children have grown.
Moments like these are worth sharing.
what a great idea! And once again what a cute family! Happy Birthday to your little guy! My "baby" is two and I not only haven't lost the baby weight I've put on extra.
What a cute little boy. Five is one of my most FAVORITE ages for boys. That bed is too cute!
wow, you get more and more popular every week! Happy Birthday Brian. The bed is totally awesome by the way. Lets just hope he doesnt want spiderman next week...those webs would be really hard to paint!
happy birthday to brian! cute blogging, of course. don't they grow up too fast?
the stroller one is my favorite.
Switched my blog to private. Email me at spamgoblin@yahoo so I can invite you.
i love all of your comments! you are so funny. you really need to read the twilight books. they are awesome... but let me warn you... your family will suffer. you can tell mike it is all my fault. i will take the blame!!!!
you are too right! for the first week while i was reading them, josh would say everynight "hey love, do you want me to bite you tonight?" they are fabulous books though. abs sent me a website that a lady started with twilight tshirts. one of them says "edward sucks. my girl left me for a vampire"!!! good times. i say... read away lauren, read away!
What an awesome bed! I'm afraid my bat signal would have looked nothing like the real thing. That is SO cool. My son turned 5 near the end of May, too!
