Getting the Word Out

I received an e-mail from my wonderful friends the other day that I want to share with all of you. I have been friends with Jaime and Jack for a number of years and believe me when I say that they are truly incredible people. I will always be grateful for Jaime's role of support in helping bring my brother Frank come back into full activity in the church or her tireless work in raising a seemingly overwhelming amount of funds to help a small boy in her ward that needed a kidney transplant. I could go on...but I feel as though I am going to cry...so let me just present their wonderful e-mail.

Oh, and Jaime and Jack, if you are reading this I just want you to know how excited I am for your family. I hope it is okay that I am posting this...after I read your profile I think I want you to raise my children. Too bad that I am so attached to them, already. I definitely want you to adopt me, though.

Without further ado...here is the e-mail they sent:

Dear Friends and Family
,

As all of you know, Jaime's recent hospital stay was related to a ruptured ectopic pregnancy. In light of related concerns, we feel adoption is the right choice for growing our family and are so excited to share this news!

We are working with LDS Family Services and are now an approved adoptive couple.

This is where you come in. Around half of all open domestic adoption placements occur through private referral, like from a 'friends' cousins' brothers' neighbor....' A great example is from the adoptivefamilies.com website: "To mark the new year, a couple in Los Angeles sent notes to their friends expressing their wish to adopt a newborn. A former neighbor in Chicago gave the letter to her rabbi, who passed it along to a pregnancy counselor in Colorado, who showed it to a teen client. The family met the pregnant teenager in Colorado, and three and a half weeks later they were in the delivery room for the birth of their daughter."

We feel like this process is in the hands of the Lord and it will happen how and when He directs it. That said, we also feel like it is "after all we can do", so we are letting you, our friends and family, know we are open and ready for the adoption of a newborn daughter or son.

Our online profile and birthparent letter is located at https://itsaboutlove.org/ial/profiles/24165916/ourMessage.jsf
Please take a minute to share our informaton with anyone you think should have it. On the left hand side are additional tabs with more information. We are also starting an adoption blog and will add tidbits about our family (mostly pics) every once in awhile, so you can check that out too, but the bulk of our info is on our profile. That link is jackandjaimeadopt.blogspot.com

Thanks for sharing in our exciting news and for waiting patiently with us as we embark on such an exciting time of our lives. If you'd like more informaton about adoption, or on the process, feel free to email either of us, or check out www.itsaboutlove.org.

Love, Jack and Jaime

So, if anyone out there knows of a child waiting for adoptive parents...please click on the links above.

They sound like they will make amazing parents. If I hear anything, I'll pass it on. I wish them a speedy process.

As a family who struggles with infertility, I know how it feels. I wish them the best of luck.

Love you Lauren! What a good idea-thanks for helping us spread the word. If that's the key, we should have a ton of messages before I finish typing this note. You rock-oh, and I would love to adopt you!

Do I really even need to leave a comment....I mean really. I know this sweet couple will find their baby. There is no doubt in my mind. I know this journey is not for the faint of heart, but the reward is worth it, soooo worth it.

Please feel free to send Jaime my way if she needs another source of support.

Adoption is a wonderful thing. I have many friends that have adopted and a few that are hoping to. Here's hoping and praying that YOUR friends find their special baby soon.
