The Eagle Has Landed

That's right, friends! After months of not wanting to brush his teeth so that they would get, "All wobbly" and fall out, Brian's dreams were finally realized, and he lost a tooth.

When his tooth finally came all the way out, Mike was gone with Evan and Adam to church for Cub and Boy Scouts. When they returned Brian bumrushed the back door and I heard him ask Mike gleefully, "Do you notice anything different about my smile?" I looked over to see Mike smiling down at Brian, who was smiling so widely it almost looked like a grimace and Mike exclaimed, "You lost a tooth, didn't you!?" When Adam and Evan made it through the door Brian asked them if they noticed anything different about his smile. I was worried that Evan would tease Brian and tell him that he didn't notice anything different but I am pleased to report that both Evan and Adam, "played nice" and told Brian excitedly that they noticed that he had lost his first tooth.

And then, of course, they reminded Brian of the Tooth Fairy's fiscal responsibility by making sure that he remembered that he had money coming his way.

Brian didn't need to be reminded.

In other breaking news...

John Daniel had his first haircut this past Monday.

Okay, I guess it doesn't qualify as, "breaking news" if I didn't blog about it for two days, but, the way I get behind in my blogging, two days after the fact is practically blogging in real time...
John had one little strand of really long hair that I wanted to snip. I know that snipping a strand of hair doesn't really count as a, "haircut" per se...but hey, don't confuse me with the facts...it is hair...it needed to be cut...so, of course, it had to be documented.

Here we see the snipped strand on Evan's Spanish vocabulary homework.

...and the, "after" shot. We live in a military town...people would have thought my boy was a hippie with all that long hair. They prefer a clean cut look around here.
That is all...as you were...carry on.

(Brian: 6 years and 7 months old) (John 6 months, 2 weeks and 3 days old (actual age) 4 months and 1 week old ( gestational age))

That haircut is definitely blog-worthy. I am impressed with your haircutting skills.

I loved your comment on my blog. It is total coincidence. Our kids met at school and are best buds. And what's not to love about Janelle? I did learn not too long ago that she knew Paige & Celia from younger years. Amazing, huh?

Too bad that baby's eyes are so small. How does he see out of those tiny peepers?

(I don't have to mention that that was pure sarcasm, do I? One time I made a sarcastic comment about my cousin's kids being dumb and her extended family had a heart attack. LIke I'd really call someone's kids dumb on their blog.)

Those are some landmark events you have going on at your house.

I love Brian's toothless grin.

John has the most amazing eyelashes.

So will Brian brush his teeth now? Or was his scheme such a total success, that he may never brush his teeth again? He could pull off totally toothless and still be so darned cute.

I love that you documented Little John's haircut. That is BIG news. Just like his eyes. I know everyone has already mentioned the eyes, but I just can't help myself. They are AMAZING! As are you, my friend. You I can't believe all that you and your family has been through in the last six months and you are all still smiling! I love you.

Awesome news about Brian's tooth! I hope the tooth fairy didn't leave TOO much moola-it might give him a reason to quit brushing all together.

Okay, John Daniel's eyes are BEAUTIFUL. I so have eye envy. Your kids are darling.

I have to add that I'm impressed with your amount of blogging lately-that's two in less than a month! :)

Holy Eyelashes!!!! WOW!!!

How fun for Brian. What did the toothfairy bring him?

Way to go passing your beautifully large eyes onto your boys. Your posterity will thank you.

My grandpa always talked about how my grandma gave his children big eyes and hair (grandpa was bald). So that is the reason I leave this semi-creepy comment.

We had a vist from the tooth fairy at our house too and maybe 1 day I'll blog about it.

By the way I can totally see you telling people when John is 16 "..but his gestational age is..."

I love how excited you are about the details of your children's lives! What a great mom you are!

Losing that first tooth is a biggy! Eden worked on her first tooth for years! I'm glad the big boys were nice.

John's first haircut is hilarious. I would classify that as a hair "snip". And HELLO GORGEOUS EYES! Really. That is one pretty boy.

you should've made a little dreadlock for him. then sent him to my hippie neck of the woods. i would've bought him an alpaca sweater and given him a bottle of hummus milk.

perhaps the eyelashes could qualify your sona s a hippy... they are longer then his actual hair... (and beautiful!) nice job Brian! Hope the tooht fairy was generous!!!

LJ is stunningly handsome. Even his little nose thingie is cute on him!

You'd better get an unlisted number with all those handsome boys!!!

The after is adorable. Look at that baby's eyes! And lashes! Oh, the envy!!!!

When Faith was his age, she had ONE strand (literally... one) of gray hair that was super, super long. So many people would notice it and tell me to cut it, but I refused. Is that weird?

Your boys are so darling. Look out, Lauren!!
