Last year when the blog was brand new, Mike expressed concern about what I may say for the blog world to read about his birthday. Yeah...he is still kind of shy about it...but I wanted to say simply...
Happy Birthday, Babe!! I love you more than I can ever express...or that you will allow me to express!!! You are wonderful, and my best friend!!
One of my favorite pictures.
Random picture from Egypt Night when Evan was in 2nd grade. We still have the yellow sarcophagus that Evan made, and Mike is holding.
My brother Frank called yesterday (on Mike's actual birthday) and told Mike on the voice mail that he is so old he is surprised that he isn't dead. Doesn't Frank have a way with words?
(For pity sake, I still can't get my pictures to enlarge when clicked on)

Yeah, I got the first comment! You always have so many comments that I'm afraid you won't get down to mine before you give up on reading them. You have such a cute family and I miss you guys so much. I'm so glad that you found my blog. I can't believe that Evan is 11, I still think of him as like 2. You will always be Lauren and I love it!!! Tell Mike I said hello.
I was going to say the same thing, "yeah, I get the 2nd comment." That's pretty hard to do with a fan club like you've got. So, funny, I just wrote a post today (same date) about Paul's birthday too. Do Mike & Paul have the same birthday? Happy Birthday!
What a fun family you are. I think I have a few lessons to learn from you about how to really enjoy life.
That is a GREAT picture of all of your guys!
I can just tell by your posts that you have a fabulous husband and dad to your cute boys!
*hope this doesn't make him blush*
Wow, I can't believe it's been a whole year since your blog was new. How does time fly like that???And what a great addition yours is to the world of blogging! I love your posts.
Happy Birthday, Mike!
There are a few blog husbands out there who I think sounds as good as my own...Mike is one of them. Happy Birthday!
Happy Birthday, Mike. Sounds like you are:
a great husband
great father
funny...
Oh, I forgot. I'll stop the list here, but I am sure it is very long.
Happy birthday to the other Mike. Aren't husbands named Mike especially great?
PS. I followed the advice in your comments on another post regarding pictures. It seems true that if you click and drag to move them they won't enlarge. but if you post them and just use the return key to move them up and down and just kind of type around them they will "big-ify". At least that worked on my last few posts. Good luck.
You are a babe. What a cute family.
Thanks so much for sharing Mike's birthday with us. It was such a great time.
I've got nothing for you as far as the pictures getting bigger. I can't make mine bigger either.. Sorry!
I love that picture also!
Happy birthday to your great hubby! (Am I allowed to say that? ;) )
Just enlarge your pics on photobucket before you post, then they will just be big on your blog... ???
wow, they really won't enlarge, will they? Great Egypt picture...Happy Birthday Mike!
Happy Birthday to your sweet hubby!
(Hope that isn't too embarrassing)
Happy Birthday Mike. Being married to Lauren makes you one of the luckiest guys I've never met, married to one of my favorite people I've yet to meet.
my favorite mike memories: 1. watching mike yell pull your head out to frank beamer ot QB while watching hokie games. 2. playing steal the pacifier with any of my boys. and 3. watching him wrestle the kids and loving it. not in a ok, ill play along, but in a i am having a great time way... We love you uncle mike, sorry we are phone call slackers!!!!!
Happy Birthday Mike. We miss you guys!
Great pics. Love hearing from the happily married. I think its so strange your photos won't biggify. Hmmm....
Happy Birthday Mike! I love birthday posts, it makes that person feel so special. Good job!
Happy birthday. You two seem to bring out the best in each other.
Such cute pictures and happy birthday to Mike. My hubby's birthday is on Tuesday and you just inspired me to get on the ball with that!
About the beads. Yes, you need beads with holes in them so that the strait pins can go through them and anchor to the styrofoam. Or, you could just glue them on with hot glue, but that could get messy, tedious and "hot." In reality, I ended up gluing many of the beads in place anyway because the quality of the styrofoam balls I found in Venezuela weren't great. I'm sure you could find beads at a craft store...or for a cheaper option got to good will and buy them out of costume jewelry. We used anything that seemed sort of brown with some gold and orange thrown in for good measure. And, I would recommend extra long strait pins as well. Our strait pins were also a variety of Thanksgivingish colors because that is what we had, but if you wanted to do all one color, that would probably be even better. Also, you could do the same thing, but in seasonally appropriate colors for Christmas, Valentine's Day, any holiday really. They make really pretty centerpieces and are fast and easy. Plus, I would imagine your boys could do them totally unsupervised and wouldn't think it was too girly of an activity. The creative requirement for this is almost non-existent, by the way!!
Oh Mike...don't be bashful...I'm afraid there is a shortage of good husbands out there and it's so nice to read about them on blogs. My husband gets a little embarassed too, it's funny how the posts that I do about him are the ones he checks the comments on...
Anyhoo...Happy Birthday to you!
Oh, no! I could have sworn I already commented a big "Happy Birthday" here, but I guess not. So...
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, MIKE!
