It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year...

.
Well...according to Mike, anyway...

That's right folks...It's Hokie Football Time.

As many of you know...we are Georgians by circumstance, and Virginians by CHOICE.

We bought new shirts to show our support of the Virginia Tech Hokies. We like this particular shirt design because it names the entire EASTERN SEABOARD as Hokie Country.

That's right all you Georgians...especially you young ones that mock my children and talk up your Georgia Bulldogs. Georgia is Hokie Country, too. We don't need it pointed out that Georgia happens to be ranked #1 in the country, right now. Please, don't try to confuse, we Hokies, with the facts.

Feast your eyes on this....that's right...The entire eastern seaboard.

Fear this kind of dedication...

Oh...and not to brag...but we are related to, Uncle Nick Marshman (Mike's cousin) that is taking the field as a starter for the Hokies.

It's gonna be a great year...I can just feel it!

We will be headed out to see the game tomorrow in Charlotte, NC. If I didn't know better, I'd think they moved the game closer to Georgia just for us. Let's Go! HOKIES!

Well, I'm not into sports, But I would be a fan just to be Hokie! (Yes coolest name ever, right up there with the Scottsdale Community College Artichokes!)

Didja buy the van to match?

Wow, you guys have some Hokie fame going on in your family! How awesome.

By the way, thanks for your last post. I am glad to know that I am not the only one with mother guilt, and not the only one who breaks down occasionally. I really needed your sobbing story today! It helped.

I am SO Jealous. You should have seen the look on Jon's face when I casually mentioned, "So, Lauren and Mike are going to Charlotte tomorrow..." He knew exactly why...isn't it great to be a Hokie fan?

Who knew? I'm livin' in Hokie Territory.

Just don't let the Penn State fans see those t-shirts...yikes!

We are big sports fans too. But I think you guys are way more dedicated than we are. How fun for your family to have these memories...

Nortorious beat me to the comment about the matching van! Although not a Hokie fan, I can't blame them for their excellent choice of colors! (I'm a grad of grand ole FSU! GO NOLES!) I love my team, even if for the 1st time in whenever they are not ranked in the top 25.

Have a great time at the game!

LOVE the family shot with the Hokie shirts but do you have one, too?

And I am admitting my ignorance to say I have never heard of the Hokies? Or just that I myself am hokie? Hmmmm.....

Christy and Kevin said...

can you fit the western mountainous part of the US as hokie country too? All this "go cougars" stuff is driving me crazy....at least with you living in GA, you have a decent (number one is decent I guess) team that everyone roots for!

Laurie said...

Yeah for college football!

Is that your minivan--in the Hokie colors? :)

Amy said...

hmmm. hope you guys had fun... and you are so right abt hokie country!!!

Sorry for the disappointing start of the season :( As both a Hokie and a Buckeye, I've come to accept being parts of teams that just can't come through when they need to. I'll wish you better luck for the rest of the season!

Go Hokies! (Don't you have a shirt?!)

Yep, it's that time of year. Geoff has broken out his Barbie Virginia Tech cheerleader (it's mint in the box) and placed it on top of the TV for good luck.

He has successfully brainwashed Eric into Hokie obsession, now he's working his way through the other four. I have no doubt he'll suceed. It's a good cause.

because of the first sentence of this post I am now singing Christmas carols - lucky for me there is no thanksgiving in South America so as soon as Halloween is over I can move on in to my favorite holiday

go Hokies!

I have a roommate who's husband is at Virginia Tech right now. They had the same blog name... Hokie Hebdons. Hmmm, I get it now.

Oh, and by the way, I told Paul that story about what Mike did to cheer you up & his first fast response was, "So, did it work?"
We miss y'all out there in Evans!

Love that wonderful family...I mean team spirit!

Since my brother teaches at VT...I will cheer for them when they are not playing against us.
"Us" being Duke or NC State.
If they are playing UNC...then I cheer for VT.
Every. time.
